1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using LastSeen (last-seen.co.uk), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Description of service

LastSeen is a community-driven vehicle registry allowing users to search for, submit, and share information about vehicle history and sightings within the UK. The platform is provided on an "as-is" basis as described in Section 8.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to create an account. By registering, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal right to use it.

4. Account responsibility

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

5. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use LastSeen to:

• Facilitate, assist, or encourage vehicle theft, fraud, or any criminal activity
• Submit false, misleading, or defamatory information about a vehicle or its history
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate any other user or third party
• Attempt to identify the precise current location or address of a vehicle owner
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Attempt to circumvent moderation, security, or rate-limiting measures
• Scrape, bulk-extract, or systematically harvest data from the platform without permission
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose under UK law

Violation of this section may result in immediate account suspension, content removal, and/or referral to law enforcement.

6. User-submitted content

• By submitting content (sightings, claims, photos, vehicle history), you grant LastSeen a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and moderate that content on the platform.
• You retain ownership of content you submit, but warrant that you have the right to submit it.
• LastSeen reserves the right to remove, edit, or refuse any submitted content at its sole discretion, particularly where it relates to suspected misuse.

7. Moderation and removal requests

• LastSeen operates a moderation process for reported content. Moderation is reactive (based on reports and review), not a guarantee of pre-screening all content.
• Vehicle owners or affected parties may submit a removal request via the designated process. We aim to review removal requests within [X business days].
• We reserve the right to reject removal requests that are not properly substantiated, and to block repeat-submission of removed content where appropriate.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

LastSeen is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or reliability of vehicle history information submitted by users. We do not verify the accuracy of user-submitted vehicle histories and make no guarantee as to their truthfulness.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• LastSeen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
• LastSeen is not liable for losses arising from inaccurate user-submitted content, or from third-party misuse of information available on the platform.
• LastSeen's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed [£X / the amount you have paid us, if any, in the preceding 12 months].
• Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded under UK law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LastSeen, its operator, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of the platform.

11. Intellectual property

The LastSeen name, logo, design, and underlying software are the property of Last Seen and may not be reproduced without permission.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, particularly in cases of suspected misuse, fraud, or facilitation of criminal activity, without prior notice where necessary for platform safety.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the UK, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales [under review].
